It all began in 2014 when Ashley and Zack began their freshman year at John F. Kennedy Memorial High School. Ashley was on the cheer squad and Zack was on the football team.

Zack was curious to know who the cute cheerleader with glasses was. Days passed and Zack finally reached out to Ashley. They texted and talked with one another for weeks, despite their busy school and practice schedules.

It was the last game of the season, and Ashley decided to write #54 on her face to cheer on Zack. A couple weeks later after a varsity game, a group of friends went out to grab food. That is when Zack asked Ashley out in front of Pizza Time. In typical Ashley fashion, she said yes while she fell off the curb.

After a year and a few months, Ashley and Zack broke up. Even though they were no longer dating, they remained very close friends throughout high school and into college.

In July of 2020, thanks to Covid-19, Zack asked Ashley to go for a walk in the park since everything was shut down. While on the walk, they found it was as easy as ever to talk, laugh, and joke together. As they continued walking, it was obvious they still had feelings for each other. On August 2, 2020, Zack asked Ashley to be his girlfriend, and Ashley said yes, (again)!

Fast forward to June 22, 2024. The day began with a heat wave in the upper 90s. Ashley was getting her hair and makeup done to go to a tasting event at a winery. Zack picked Ashley up from her house and they began their drive to the Winery. Ashley had no idea what winery they were going to. After an hour and a half, they finally arrived at Renault Winery. Alissa, Zack’s sister was already there waiting for them. She wanted a picture of Zack and Ashley by the barrel tower. While they were posing for the picture, Zack turned, got down on one knee, and asked Ashley to spend the rest of their lives together. Ashley said yes! (for forever now). Ashley was overwhelmed with excitement. She then realized that her cousin, Kayla, from Texas, had flown in to be there as well. After taking more pictures around the winery, Ashley and Zack had lunch at the winery and then headed home.

When they arrived back home, they walked into a surprise engagement party in the backyard full of family and friends to celebrate with. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the rain didn’t hold anyone back from celebrating the newly engaged couple!!

This is the start of the next chapter in their love story.
